Tips for Choosing a DVR:

Determine the number of cameras that you will need. That will determine how many video inputs the DVR will need to have. Keep in mind that if you wish to add more cameras in the future, you will need to have extra inputs available. 

Use our Frames Per Second Demo to decide the number of fps (frames of video displayed and recorded in one second) that you wish to be displayed/recorded for each camera. We recommend a minimum of 7.5fps PER CAMERA for most security applications.  Click Here for FPS (Frames Per Second) Demo

30fps PER CAMERA is optimal and is the normal frame rate for watching TV images from camcorders, VCR's, DVD's, etc. Most customers will want to get the most fps that their budget will allow and try to get as close to 30fps per camera as possible.
