PTZ Security Cameras

Security cameras that can pan-tilt-zoom are also known as PTZ security cameras. PTZ Cameras is an industry standard term.

PTZ cameras allow you to pan an entire room, tilt up and down and zoom in on anything or anybody within the sight of the lens.

When compared to regular security cameras a PTZ camera will give you a much wider area of coverage and the ability to zoom in and out on a subject. This reduces the need for multiple standard cameras in a system and gives the operator the ability to get a close up of a subject when needed.

Some PTZ security cameras now have an auto-tracking feature that lets the camera track a subject as it moves around an area. This feature can reduce the need for a camera operator an some situations or will make the CCTV system much more effective.
